Coaching Makes Weight Loss Inevitable
One of the first things I teach you in coaching is that your thoughts make or break your weight loss.
You heard that right. It’s not the types of foods you eat, or the calories you consume in a day, or how much you work out that gets you to your goal.
It’s what you think.
Did you know that we each have around 60,000 thoughts every day?
Some thoughts are amazing and totally helpful like “I’m worth this work” or “I’m going to figure this out no matter what” or “I bet I can come up with one simple thing I can do today to make weight loss easy”. Keep thinking those.
But there are other thoughts totally hose your progress. They’re not helpful, and they make losing weight HARDER.
What do UNhelpful thoughts sound like?
“I already messed up, might as well go crazy and start again on Monday”
“I’m never going to figure this out”
“I just love food too much to lose weight”
“Life is crazy right now, there’s just no way I can do all of this AND focus on myself”
Thoughts like these make us feel TERRIBLE, and they do nothing to move the needle toward actually solving our problems.
So, what are your sneaky little unhelpful thoughts?
Sometimes these thoughts start with “I can’t because…” or “It’s hard when…”. Your brain creates a list of obstacles…and you automatically believe them.
But here’s what I want you to know: thoughts aren’t facts. They’re just suggestions from your brain. And when you start to become aware of your thoughts, you can decide on purpose whether they’re helpful or harmful.
And then you get to decide to change them.

The next time your brain offers you a reason to quit, a reason why this is too hard, or a reason why it will never work out for you challenge it.
Talk back to your brain. Ask, “yeah, but what would it look like it I could?” ”What would it look like if I did figure this out?” “What if I’m wrong about this?” “What might I try?”
Thoughts like that put your brain to work finding solutions instead of arguing for your limitations. And when you’re looking for solutions, you find them.
You start finding the obstacles between you and your goal. And, from a place of empowerment, you start turning those obstacles into actions that move you closer to where you want to be rather than keeping you stuck.
It’s the best brain hack, and you can start doing it right now.
Notice your thinking. Don’t automatically believe everything your brain offers you. Question it…and turn it on its head.
“What if I could figure it out?” “What if this were possible?” “What would I try?”

Restrictive diets and food tracking apps don’t teach you how to THINK in a way that makes weight loss not only possible but inevitable.
